On Thursday, 6th July, the Leopold Museum opened its three new summer exhibitions which highlight the broad range of the Leopold Museum Director Hans-Peter Wipplinger’s newly developed exhibition program.
With an exclusive preview of the retrospective “Richard Gerstl” at the Neue Galerie in New York, the Leopold Museum Vienna and the Vienna tourist organization WienTourismus gave the media, the art world and the travel industry in New York a taste of Vienna’s upcoming commemorative year of 2018 with its theme of “Beauty and Abyss”.
The museum’s Director Hans-Peter Wipplinger, the foundation’s board member Agnes Husslein-Arco and the artist Erwin Wurm celebrated the closing event of the successful Spitzweg-Wurm exhibition
On Wednesday, 24th May 2017, at 11 am, George Jaeger, the son of the Austrian-American painter Frederick Jaeger (born Friedrich Jäger) gifted two of his father’s paintings to the Leopold Museum. They are the following works, which have been incorporated into the collection of the Leopold Museum bearing the inventory numbers LM 6027 and LM 6028.
