In the run-up to the Austrian legislative election on 29th September, and in view of imminent geo-political decisions – especially the upcoming US presidential election –, many of us observe the increasing polarization of society with growing concern. The debates surrounding the war resulting from the Russian invasion in Ukraine, the escalation of the conflict in Gaza following Hamas’ attack on Israel, as well as global terrorist activities, have led, not just in Austria, to a rise in political extremism. Against this background, the Leopold Museum has decided to make a strong plea for tolerance and diversity with its initiative WE ARE MANY. CELEBRATING DIVERSITY.
The artworks – among them outstanding exhibits by Egon Schiele, Richard Gerstl, Broncia Koller-Pinell, Tina Blau-Lang and Anton Kolig – represent an essential addition to the museum’s collection
2024’s exclusive Fundraising Dinner was based on the theme of the “Roaring Twenties”. The festive evening in the style of the 1920s on the rooftop of the Leopold Museum was hosted by the Leopold Museum’s Directors Hans-Peter Wipplinger and Moritz Stipsicz, along with Georg Pölzl, head of the board of the Circle of Patrons, Josef Ostermayer, head of the board of the Leopold Museum-Privatstiftung, and Saskia Leopold, board member and granddaughter of the museum founders Elisabeth and Rudolf Leopold.
