The library of the Leopold Museum is a reference library set up to support the scholarly work of the museum’s in-house museologists. It makes available print and electronic media needed for research on areas covered by the museum. The informational materials on offer are being constantly expanded along with the museum’s collection. Holdings currently encompass approximately 7,000 publications (not including auction and gallery catalogues). The library has been accessible upon prior request every Thursday from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. since April 2011 as part of the Egon Schiele Documentation Centre.
Due to extensive changes currently being made to the database, users will only be able to access the library’s complete holdings electronically starting in the autumn of 2011. Individual searches, however, can be conducted at any time on location at the Documentation Centre.
