VisuAL Revolution
08 Dec 2020–05 April 2021 (Extended until July 4th)
LEVEL -2
The Leopold Museum’s exhibition Emil Pirchan. Visual Revolution is the first comprehensive retrospective on the artist’s work in Austria. Some 200 exhibits afford insights into the creative work of the universal artist Emil Pirchan (1884–1957), whose success as a commercial artist equaled his achievements as a pioneer of Expressionist stage design. Pirchan was further active as a designer, architect, author, book illustrator and university lecturer. The multi-talented artist developed his creativity at his places of activity Munich (1908–1919), Berlin (1919–1932), Prague (1932–1936) and Vienna (1936–1957).
