The Leopold Museum is dedicating a major exhibition to the fascinating Biedermeier era. The period of this era stretches from the Congress of Vienna in 1814/15 to the years surrounding the bourgeois revolution of 1848. 190 works by more than 70 artists are on display, including paintings, watercolors and drawings, furniture, glass, porcelain, clothing and much more. The focus of the show Biedermeier. The Rise of an Era focuses not only on Vienna as the capital and residential capital of the Habsburg Empire, but also on the splendid centers of the crown lands such as Budapest, Prague, Ljubljana, Venice and Milan and their respective surrounding areas.
