12th June 2015: New commemorative plaque at Hietzinger Hauptstraße for Schiele’s 125th birthday

Vienna (OTS) – Hietzinger Hauptstraße 101 once housed the studio of the artist Egon Schiele (1890-1918)

At 2 pm on Friday, 12th June 2015, the precise day of Schiele’s 125th birthday, the commemorative plaque, which had been placed on the left front garden pillar of the house the day before, was formally unveiled. The plaque was made possible through the initiative of Prof. Dr. Alfons Huber, member of the board of directors of the association Friends of the Leopold Museum.

The plaque was produced with the support of the initiator himself, the representatives of the district of Hietzing and the association Friends of the Leopold Museum. The unveiling of the commemorative plaque took place as part of a ceremony hosted by the representative of Vienna’s Hietzing district Mag.a Silke Kobald, Dr. Elisabeth Leopold and Dir. Dkfm. Hans Raumauf, the president of the association Friends of the Leopold Museum.
