Lecture: Volker von Truchsess: Jugendstil - Art Nouveau. A European Phenomenon around 1900 Date: 15. September 2010
The so called "Jugendstil" was named after the Munich Magazine
"Jugend". The name was a symbol for a new start into a new era, the 20th
century. Art Nouveau - New Art was a more general expression in French
speaking countries for new ideas in Art and Crafts, originally developed
in England. A lecture accompanied by the most astonishing and
recent images which the lecturer shot during his travels all across
Europe. A sensual feast for all friends of Art Nouveau!

an informative tour, you will see masterpieces by Gustav Klimt, Richard
Gerstl, the Wiener Werkstätte, Oskar Kokoschka, Egon Schiele, Albin
Egger-Lienz and others. € 80.- + admission fee

Guided Tours for pupils
Line and Language Brush up your English with Schiele For ages 16-19 Maximum of 15 students per guide (larger groups will be divided in two)
Native
speakers draw students into Schiele's expressive language and the world
of English expression. When Schiele's striking lines were first seen in
London in the 1960s, they found their echo in the lines of Britain's
press in a debate which we re-open to conclude the programme. Interactive 90-minute tour with students' work pack containing vocabulary list and press cuttings. Can be used in conjunction with the unit „Where do you draw the line?“ in Make Your Way with English 7.

He-Lo puppet theatre: „Once upon a time...“ A puppet theatre with marionettes - For kids from 5 years
(and for adults, too)„Once upon a time...“: in memoriam of the
little Hessian princess Elisabeth, this fairy tale was written by her
nursery nurse. Joseph Maria Olbrich illustrated the story of the little
princess lovingly. Now, this fairy tale becomes alive and you have
the possibility to experience the story of princess sunshine with her
little dog, her pony in her beautiful little house with garden. There
will be lots of laughter, singing, planting, dancing, crying and
laughter again... Idea and puppet show: Lorli Kaufmann
(grandniece of Joseph Maria Olbrich) and Hermann Gottfried
Debut performance: September 05, 2 pm
