The so called "Jugendstil" was named after the Munich Magazine "Jugend". The name was a symbol for a new start into a new era, the 20th century. Art Nouveau - New Art was a more general expression in French speaking countries for new ideas in Art and Crafts, originally developed in England.

A lecture accompanied by the most astonishing and recent images which the lecturer shot during his travels all across Europe. A sensual feast for all friends of Art Nouveau!

Native speakers draw students into Schiele's expressive language and the world of English expression. When Schiele's striking lines were first seen in London in the 1960s, they found their echo in the lines of Britain's press in a debate which we re-open to conclude the programme.

Can be used in conjunction with the unit Where do you draw the line? in Make Your Way with English 7.
